In fact, plists still do adhere to Unix philosophies (they are text files, after all, which is certainly better than a proprietary binary format like what a Unix programmer should be fearing), and you can't blame OS X exclusively for them when they originated with NeXTSTEP (albeit with a different format, IIRC). Now, whether or not they did a good job of that is a worthy debate, but arguing that by doing so they've automatically tarnished Unix is silly. ![]() ![]() Plist files, launchd, Aqua, what the hell is that shit?Īpple trying to make Unix better.
